Fullness Of The Month of Sh'vat
Tonight, January 20th (Sh’vat 15) marks the middle or fullness of the Biblical month of Sh’vat. It’s easy to know when are in the middle of the month... all we have to do is look up! The Lord created the moon and its phases for times and seasons.
The full moon indicates the middle or “fullness” of the month.
This particular full moon is unique as it is a “Super Blood Moon.” A “Super Moon” is the term used when the moon is closer to earth than usual and looks bigger in appearance. A “Blood Moon” refers to the earth’s “red” shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse, causing it to appear red like blood. Nothing is random in the heavens. The Lord of Hosts is sovereign over all, including His heavenly hosts. We can find many references of the moon turning like “blood” in the Bible, all relating to the great day of the return of the Lord. (Joel 2, Acts 2, Revelation). Jesus said “no one knows the day or the hour... only the Father...” yet we can know the season. (Matt 24, 1 Thes 5) He has put the sun, moon and stars in a “fixed order” and “made the moon for its seasons... for even the sun knows the place of its setting” and “the stork in the sky knows her seasons... but My people do not know the ordinance of the Lord.” (Psalm 104, Jer 8 ) May the Lord teach us to number our days and that we may present to Him a heart of wisdom. Let us be encouraged and look up and behold HIM... for our redemption draweth nigh! If you live in North or South America, the western parts of Africa or Europe— you will get a chance to witness the Super Blood Moon of Sh’vat beginning tonight, Sunday January 20 at 10:30pm EST.
