The New Year of Trees... Tu B'Sh'vat
Today celebrates the "New Year of Trees"
in Israel called "Tu B'Sh'vat" which means the 15th of Sh'vat.
It is here in the fullness of the month, when blossoms of the almond tree
bloom forth bringing encouragement of life in the midst of winter.
The word "almond" in Hebrew means "to watch."
In fact, the almond tree is called the "watching tree."
We see the word play the Lord is using
when He tells Jeremiah he has seen well!
Truly His word is timely for us, too, here in the midst of winter.
Let us receive His encouragement and choose life-
for there is life in Him no matter what it looks like in the natural.
He is not only watching over us, but He is watching over
His word to perform it. 🙌🏼💫
Let's believe Him and choose life in the midst of this winter season,
for He calls it a season of victory and joy!
